Photo Exhibition. How heroin loss affects families of all demographics.

Angelo Merendino: Angelo Merendino is a Cleveland, Ohio based editorial photographer most known for his photo-documentary The Battle We Didn’t Choose – My Wife’s Fight With Breast Cancer, a powerful and intimate body of work that chronicles the lives of Angelo and his late wife, Jennifer, who suffered from breast cancer. It has been exhibited in the United States and Europe and four of the photographs are

part of the permanent collection of The Akron Art Museum. More than a collection of photographs, the body of work is an intimate look into the reality of day to day life with breast cancer. While moments like the one’s captured in the series can be difficult to view, that is exactly why I think sharing them is so important. If we hide our experiences, especially the ones that make us feel different or uncomfortable, we miss the opportunity to connect, to learn, and to grow.
